DUNVEGAN, ISLE OF SKYE Portree 22 miles. The village of Dunvegan is set in the north west of Skye and contains a mixture of traditional stone and modern houses along with a selection of shops and hotels. | Previous Visitors' Comments | The cottage was lovely - comfortable and nicely furnished. The kitchen was big and full of good appliances and plenty of extra pieces of crockery. The sitting room was also great - big and comfortable, and the big leather sofas were a bonus. The cottage was in a great place, close to Dunvengan Castle and the Three Chimneys restaurant, and we were able to access everywhere on Skye that we wanted to visit from here.
