MELIDEN

Prestatyn 1 mile; Rhuddlan 2 miles.

Only one mile from the lovely North Wales coast, standing between the historic village of Rhuddlan with its majestic castle, and the famous resort of Prestatyn, the village of Meliden boasts a history of lead mining, a neolithic burial mound called Gop Hill which provides panoramic views of the area and also good pubs/restaurants and shops. Prestatyn, whose Blue Flag beach provides miles of golden sand, is ideal for bathing, water sports and fishing. The perfect base for touring the beautiful Snowdonia National Park, the Clwydian Hill Range, Victorian Llandudno, the Welsh Mountain Zoo or historic Chester with its wonderful shops and architecture. This area is a walker's paradise with the 8th century Offa's Dyke Pathway starting at Prestatyn seafront and meandering up into stunning countryside all the way to Chepstow, if you're fit!

Previous Visitors' Comments
The cottage was beautifully presented, and the owner gave us a warm welcome but made sure we felt it was ours for the week. The village itself has a good range of food choices, without travelling by car. It was a good base to discover a part of Wales we were not familiar with.
