Ref: 1440 The Coach House
CHARMINSTER NEAR DORCHESTER Dorchester 1.5 miles. The attractive scattered community of Charminster is set in the valley of the River Cerne, surrounded by glorious, unspoilt countryside. It is served by a shop and pub, yet just one and a half miles away is the bustling market town of Dorchester, with its Roman roads, museums and a wide selection of pubs and restaurants. Enjoy a scenic walk around Maiden Castle, the largest hillfort in England, or visit the County Museum which has a room devoted to Thomas Hardy, born just two miles away in Bockhampton. Sep 2006 | The cottage was in a lovely quiet location with nice walks. It was very well equipped, and we were surprise to hear that we weren't the first to stay in it, it was so pristine. It was nice for the children to have the run of the place. I feel sure we will be back.
