| Previous Visitors' Comments | Previously in the UK we have usually camped with this holiday being our second in a rented property. The major benefit we found was that even when the weather was at its worst it was possible to come home get dry and light a fire.

Nov 2007 | There was nothing you could fault with the cottage - fabulous view, comfortable and cosy rooms, wood for a real fire in the evenings, and TV and games to amuse the kids. Even nuts provided to feed the birds! Obviously a very thoughtful and kind owner. The weather was great too, which I know you can't take credit for but it helps! Another fabulous Sykes cottage (our 4th)- I continue to recommend you to my friends.

Oct 2007 | A great welcome from the owners. A great cottage in a great spot with a view you dream of - the view from the garden down the valley and across the steam train line was awesome. A very homely cottage which was perfect for our needs. Highly recommended!

Aug 2007 | Lovely clean cottage with nice garden and view. Thoughtful extra touches like milk, cereal wine and Easter eggs etc. were very much appreciated and we thought the cottage deserved a higher rating. An excellent base for exploring the lakes and a friendly and helpful owner.
Ms Mallinson, Preston, Lancashire
Apr 2007 | I liked where the cottage was situated the scenery was beautiful, and was in easy reach of all the main places to go. I have stayed in places of higher grades and this cottage was much better than them. I loved the local walks and the ferry on Lake Windermere, as well as all the chocolate shops!
Miss Winter, Isleworth,
Mar 2007 | A real gem, the owner took personal pride in her property. She provided extras like milk, tea, logs and wine! These all contributed to the warmness of the welcome. I also appreciated the text in the middle of the week to check everything was all right.
