This quiet Dales village is of ancient origin, with a stone circle dating back to the Bronze Age and having been the site of a monastic settlement in the 12th Century. Today it is popular with walkers and steam railway enthusiasts who come to enjoy the beautiful surrounding countryside and the Embsay and Bolton Abbey Steam Railway, with its award-winning authentic station buildings and steam trains. The Old Mill in the village centre boasts a needlecraft centre and coffee shop, whilst all the amenities and attractions of the lively bustling market town of Skipton are close at hand. Nearby are lots of popular places to visit, including Bolton Abbey, Kilnsey and Grassington making this an ideal location for a wonderful Dales holiday.

The Property: Box Tree Cottage

A delightful stone built terraced cottage situated in a quiet position just a few hundred yards from the village square in the charming village of Embsay. Lovingly restored and offering well presented and cosy accommodation, the cottage boasts many original features such as a feature window with views of Embsay crag, a Yorkshire stone floor in the kitchen and the original cellar. Outside, a large mature garden with bike storage and pretty garden views makes this an ideal holiday home. Explore the village and its traditional old pubs, enjoy one of the extensive walks from the doorstep, or visit the market town of Skipton and the popular Wharfedale villages of Bolton Abbey, Burnsall and Grassington, whilst Harrogate, York and Bronte Country are also nearby - there really is something for everyone! Note: This property can be booked with ref 2020 to accommodate up to 8 people.

Two bedrooms: 1 x double, 1 x twin. Bathroom with bath with shower over, basin and WC. Additional storage space in cellar (for coats/boots etc). Modern fitted kitchen. Spacious sitting room with dining area.

Amenities

Full gas central heating throughout with additional heating from living flame effect gas fire in sitting room. Electric cooker, microwave, fridge (no icebox), dishwasher, colour TV, video, DVD player, radio, stereo/CD player, library of books, games, videos and DVDs etc. All fuel and power inc. in rent. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Roadside parking. Lockable bike storage on request. Use of mature garden with patio, garden furniture and BBQ. Sorry, no pets or smoking. Pub and shops 1 mins. Note: The stairs have a semi open tread, therefore the property is not suitable for children under 5.

The kitchen, particularly, was equipped to a very high standard. The owners had thought about the 'little' things that make a big difference. They had left a lot of very thoughtful details that exceeded our expectations.

Box Tree Cottage is in a fantastic location with beautiful views and is a cosy autumn retreat. It is very well presented and has many thoughtful touches which made for a great holiday.A clean and comfortable holiday let. I would recommend it.

Close to Skipton. Being able to walk straight from the property, beautiful garden. Lovely views from the windows. Very comfy beds. Lots of DVD's and Videos to watch.

Being home in the UK in the spring to see the trees coming into leaf and the daffodils and tulips blooming. Cottage in a great location, pretty village, fantastic walking on the doorstep, good local pubs.
