The cottage was very warm, central for local walking and further afield trips. We found shops convenient and lots of lovely scenery within a few miles. We couldn't have wanted more.

We had a wonderful , quiet holiday, as did my daughter who was with us for the weekend. We liked it so much that we have booked another week later in the year. We enjoyed the layout of the house which felt very spacious. We really liked the garden and felt that it was very cleverly designed and safe. We loved the big bath and loads of hot water. We loved the village, the walks, the beautiful area & the people were all so friendly.

Clean and somebody had put in a lot of effort to set up the place - much appreciated. Undisturbed. Good stove. Quite pleasant and good value. Would use again.

The cottage was very clean and well equipped and situated in a beautiful area. The village had everything we needed - a co-op, chemist, post office and tea shop. A great holiday and we would definately go to Merle Cottage again.

Excellent location in the middle of Teesdale for exploring the Dales in both directions. Merle Cottage has the personal touch of an owner who really cares.
