Ref: 1700 Tetheran Cottage
GUNNERSIDE Reeth 5 miles; Richmond 15 miles. Situated in the heart of Swaledale, Gunnerside is one of the prettiest villages in the Dales National Park. Something of a sleepy backwater, it is surrounded by traditional farm meadows, pastures and fells, with the pretty Gunnerside Beck running through the village centre before joining the glorious River Swale on the village outskirts. Amongst the cluster of old stone houses are a cafe (which has 'bistro' evenings) and a village post office, whilst the village pub serves good food at lunchtime and in the evening. The market towns of Richmond, Leyburn, Hawes and Barnard Castle are all within 15 miles making Gunnerside a scenic and central base from which to tour the Dales. The Property: Tetheran Cottage A charming, stone built, detached barn conversion just a stone's throw from the River Swale, in the lovely unspoilt Dales village of Gunnerside, 5 miles from Reeth. Lovingly renovated to provide comfortable, well equipped accommodation, Tetheran Cottage is full of character, boasting exposed beams on the ground floor and a cosy first floor sitting room with wood burning stove and delightful views of the surrounding fells. The property is an ideal base from which to explore this beautiful, unspoilt area of Yorkshire, with its many walks, cycling trails, attractive woodlands and wealth of wildlife watching opportunities. The picturesque village of Reeth is just 5 miles away, while the market town of Richmond, with its impressive Georgian architecture, and Barnard Castle, with its magnificent fortress, are both within easy driving distance. The North York Moors, Hadrian's Wall and the Lake District are also easily accessible from this delightful holiday location.
