THORNTON-LE-DALE Pickering 2 miles; Scarborough 16 miles; York 25 miles. The beautiful village of Thornton-le-Dale lies just two miles to the east of Pickering within The North York Moors National Park. There are broad fields above and below the village and views to the south across the Vale of Pickering, whilst to the north is the Forestry Commission's Dalby Forest, with several excellent nature trails to be enjoyed. Further afield, but within driving distance, are the East Coast and The City of York.
