THORNTON-LE-DALE

Pickering 2 miles; Scarborough 16 miles; York 25 miles.

The beautiful village of Thornton-le-Dale lies just two miles to the east of Pickering within The North York Moors National Park. Much of its charm comes from its complicated shape - a fascinating jumble of streams and paths and pretty houses with an attractive village green which still has its wooden stocks and a market cross. The village offers a selection of shops, pubs and tearooms. The nearby market town of Pickering offers a good range of amenities and the famous North York Moors Steam Railway. There are broad fields above and below the village and views to the south across the Vale of Pickering, whilst to the north is the Forestry Commission's Dalby Forest, with several excellent nature trails to be enjoyed. Further afield, but within driving distance, are the East Coast and The City of York.

The Property: The Old Coach House

An excellent base for exploring the nearby market towns and the North York Moors, and with the seaside resort of Scarborough just 16 miles away The Old Coach House has something to please everyone!

We had a great weeks holiday. The accommodation was excellent, very comfortable and plenty of space. Ideal for 2 families sharing. The Old Coach House is in a beautiful village down a very quiet lane, with everything near that you may need. Good eating places, and the coast not too far away.

The Old Coach house is located in a nice quiet position with plenty of room for 2 cars to park under the cover. The cottage was really spacious with two good size on suite bedrooms. As for Thornton Le Dale, what a beautiful picturesque village with everthing on hand that you could wish for.
