ULVERSTON

Lake Windermere 12 miles; Coniston Lake 12 miles.

The ancient market town of Ulverston still holds a street market every Thursday and Saturday. Today it's well known as a festival town with events throughout the year. One of the town's great claims to fame is as the birthplace of Stan Laurel - it is now home to the only Laurel and Hardy museum in the world! Facilities include a wide range of shops, pubs, restaurants, a cinema and a leisure centre. Whilst many Lakeland destinations have been developed beyond recognition, Ulverston still has an authentic feel and community spirit. All of the attractions of the National Park are easily reached. The Furness Coast boasts sandy beaches and good birdwatching. Nearby family attractions include the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway, the South Lakes Wild Animal Park and Muncaster Castle.

The Property: Gill View

Previous Visitors' Comments
Flat was surprisingly spacious and close to all village amenities. It is absolutely essential to have parking permit, provided by land lords, due to parking restrictions. Ulverston is perfectly located within easy reach to all attractions. Had a lovely time!!!!

Our holiday was fantastic and that was due to the accommodation, Gill View, and the town of Ulverston. Gill View was excellent and I have already recommended it to several people and we may return ourselves.

The accommodation was clean and had everything that we required. The situation was ideal for the local amenities, and for the many attractions in the area. A holiday that was enjoyed and we would have no hesitation in returning, or recommending to our friends and family.
