Gunnerside

Reeth 5 miles; Richmond 15 miles.

Situated in the heart of Swaledale, Gunnerside is one of the prettiest villages in the Dales National Park. Something of a sleepy backwater, it is surrounded by traditional farm meadows, pastures and fells, with the pretty Gunnerside Beck running through the village centre before joining the glorious River Swale on the village outskirts. Amongst the cluster of old stone houses are a cafe (which has 'bistro' evenings) and a village post office, whilst the village pub serves good food at lunchtime and in the evening.
