Ref: 1981 The Piggery
MAIDENCOMBE Torquay 3 miles. Nestling among green fields on the northern, coastal outskirts of Torquay, the tiny village of Maidencombe sits off the beaten track whilst being on the Devonshire coast known as the English Riviera. Consisting of a tiny cluster of cottages and a very picturesque pub, this lovely village attracts those seeking peace and quiet away from the main tourist path - a reason Rudyard Kipling once used for staying in the village himself. Perfectly placed for exploring Torquay and its many visitor attractions, including the Sea Life Centre, Paignton Zoo, theatres, beaches and a great shopping centre, Maidencombe is also ideal for savouring those attractions found in most major seaside resorts, but without the hustle and bustle of more famous tourist attractions. Slightly further afield are the rolling hills and wooded valleys of the South Hams, the picturesque fishing harbours of Brixham and Dartmouth, the wild open spaces of Dartmoor and the superb beaches of the South Devon coast that run all the way from the Exe estuary down towards Plymouth. A great base for exploring all that Devon has to offer! The Property: The Piggery Maidencombe 1.5 miles.
