It makes an excellent holiday location for walkers, offering a great base from which to explore both Wensleydale and Swaledale, with beauty spots in the area including Aysgarth Falls, Semerwater, castles at both Bolton and Middleham and of course, Hardraw Force - England's highest single drop waterfall at 99ft! Situated in a magnificent peaceful position on a working Dales family farm, quarter of a mile down a farm lane and boasting glorious views, this superb cottage was created from part of the owner's traditional Dales farmhouse which adjoins the property. The farm is located betwixt the Dales village of Askrigg and the attractive market town of Hawes - both can be reached via a footpath from the cottage. The cottage is spacious, light, well furnished and extremely comfortable. Accommodation Two bedrooms: 1 x double, 1 x twin. Bathroom with separate electric shower. Large fitted kitchen with dining area. Spacious south-facing sitting room with superb views and open fire (electric fire for summer months). | Previous Visitors' Comments | West Shaw Cote is one of the cleanest holiday cottages I have ever stayed in. It is second to none. Set in a stunning location,it is somewhere to truly relax. It is a fantastic base for walking and enjoying Wensleydale. The owners welcomed us after after our long journey and were very accommodating. This was our second holiday at West Shaw Cote and certainly not our last to this beautiful cottage.
