The pretty, unspoilt village of Hutton Roof is peacefully located in South Cumbria, quietly resting between the beautiful Lake District and the stunning Yorkshire Dales. The village itself is home to a number of annual events including a Fell Race, a Country Fair and a Village Fair with children's sports and famous cakes, whilst fabulous views over the Lakeland Fells, Ingleborough and Morecambe Bay can be seen from this beautiful village all year round. Hutton Roof Crags Nature Reserve is also nearby and boasts one of the most impressive areas of limestone habitat in Britain, whilst being home to a wide variety of butterflies, birds and plant life. The ancient market town of Kirkby Lonsdale, with its attractive 17th and 18th Century architecture and famous Devil's Bridge, is within easy reach and offers a variety of distinctive shops and a good selection of fine pubs and restaurants. The historic, Cumbrian town of Kendal, with its quaint cobbled streets, impressive art gallery and interesting museum is a mere eleven miles away, whilst the villages of Arnside, Sedbergh, Settle and the picturesque Lune Valley are all within easy touring distance. An ideal base for exploring this lovely region.

PICKLE FARM COTTAGES

Located in the Lune Valley, between the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District, these two outstanding farm conversions are set in the owners' grounds, in a secluded location on the edge of the unspoilt village of Hutton Roof, 3 miles from Kirkby Lonsdale. Providing first class accommodation, both properties offer the ideal base for those wishing to discover the many delights this beautiful area has to offer. Hutton Roof with its variety of annual fairs and activities is within easy reach, whilst Hutton Roof Crags Nature Reserve is nearby providing some of the best examples of limestone paving in Britain. With plenty of great walking and cycling opportunities available throughout the surrounding area and both the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales National Parks close by, this great location has plenty to offer at any time of year.

The Property: Pickle Cottage

A charming wing of a former milking parlour and hayloft, with oak beams, one double bedroom, a charming spiral staircase and access via French windows to the private patio area. The perfect romantic retreat! Note: This property can be booked with ref. 2198 to accommodate up to 6 people.

Accommodation

One kingsize double (can be made into twin on request). Bathroom with bath with shower over, basin and WC. Open plan living area with fitted kitchen, dining area and sitting area with access via French windows to patio.

Amenities

Oil fired underfloor central heating on ground floor with radiators on first floor. Electric cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer, colour TV, DVD player, radio/CD player etc. Small library of books/games/DVDs. All fuel and power inc. in rent. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Cot and highchair available. Off road parking for two cars. Lockable storage for bikes/walking equipment. Private patio area with garden furniture. Use of trampoline (suitable up to 16 stone and at own risk). Sorry no pets and no smoking. Shops 3 miles, pub 2 miles. Note: Free range eggs available at charge from owner.

Pickle Cottage situated in Hutton was excellent. This was the best Cottage we have had and with excellent views. We had a warm welcome for Mr & Mrs Clark throughout our stay, they were very helpful and so friendly. We will be going back.

Everything was 100% perfect with the cottage. Very well equipped and superbly presented. The welcome was excellent, and we were made to feel that nothing was too much to ask. The owners were perfect and very friendly and it was a pleasure staying at Pickle Farm. We will be returning to this brilliant place and will definitely recommend it to family and friends.
