Just a mile away is the village of Pentney with its 12th century priory and popular marked walks, while 9 miles away is the quaint town of Downham Market, which sits on the River Ouse and boasts a ruined Norman castle on a Roman site, with rooms and galleries to view, reached by a dramatic staircase. Visit Swaffham, an elegant town with fine Georgian buildings and a domed rotunda (featured in the TV series 'Kingdom' with Stephen Fry), Thetford Forest Park, which makes for a great family day out, or the medieval port of King's Lynn. The Property: The Manor Cottage An unusual, detached cottage situated in the village of Marham in west Norfolk, 9 miles from Swaffham. Quintessentially English eccentric, with unique charm, the property features old beams, rustic furniture, a four poster bed, an open fire and woodburner, and a baby grand piano. Outside, a covered courtyard provides an ideal spot for alfresco dining, while the outdoor swimming pool and games area offer great fun for all the family. Enjoy the bar area, pool table, dart board and giant chess, with an outdoor woodburner for those cooler evenings. Excellent walking is available in the area, including walks along the River Nar, while Thetford Forest Park, the elegant town of Swaffham, historic King's Lynn, Sandringham and Hunstanton are within easy reach. Accommodation Four ground floor bedrooms: 2 x double (1 with four poster bed & open fire), 2 x twin (1 with 2' 6" wide beds). Ground floor bathroom with bath with mixer spray, basin & WC. 1st floor WC/basin. Open plan living area with fitted kitchen, dining area & sitting area (seat 5). Second sitting room (seats 5) accessed via one double bedroom with woodburner & patio doors. Small conservatory. Amenities Oil central heating, plug-in electric radiators, woodburner & open fire. Rayburn & electric oven, microwave, fridge, fridge/freezer, washing machine, colour TV, video, DVD, CD. Library of books/games. Fuel, power and starter pack for fires inc. in rent. Bed linen & towels inc. in rent. Heated outdoor swimming pool (24' x 12' x 55" deep - available all year round from 10am - 6pm at charge of £10 per day payable direct to owner - children must be supervised) with sunloungers, bar area, games & large BBQ.
