TIDESWELL

Buxton 9 miles.

The village of Tideswell stands in the heart of the Peak District National Park. Famous for its fine church dedicated to St John the Baptist, known as "The Cathedral of the Peaks", the village is also noted for its well dressing and carnival wakes. There is excellent walking with rugged peaks to the north, gentle hills and dales to the south and Millers Dale just outside the village. Mam Tor and Castleton are only a few miles away and the popular spa town of Buxton is within a 15 minute drive. Tideswell has many fine country inns and excellent restaurants, a chemist, butchers, bakers and much more.

Superb Accomodation. Lovely decor, good furniture, lovely home. The adjoining paddock worked so well for the children playing and a running area for our 2 dogs.

Excellent accommodation and well equipped for 10 persons. Owners very welcoming and friendly. Good centre for walking as there are frequent bus services in all directions. Our serious walkers did not use cars- only bus passes!

We have had a great week. The cottage was very comfortable and extremely well equipped, I've never seen so many saucepans in one kitchen before. Many thanks for the wine, flowers and Easter Eggs, they were extremely well received.
