The small town of Kington, known as the "centre for walking", is situated near the Welsh Borders in the area known as The Marches. This pleasant town has a number of good shops, pubs, restaurants and a variety of tourist attractions close by including Eastnor Castle, Hergest Croft Gardens, the Offa's Dyke Path, the Mortimer Trail and the lovely walk to Hergest Ridge, the inspiration for the beautiful music of both Elgar and Mike Oldfield! Also within easy reach and well worth a visit is the delightful town of Hay-on-Wye, with its numerous book shops, craft shops and antique shops, and the ancient city of Hereford with its impressive Norman cathedral and famous Mappa Mundi, a 13th Century cartographer's interpretation of the world. With the beautiful Brecon Beacons National Park, Shropshire and Worcestershire all within easy reach, this lovely cottage has plenty to offer at any time of year!
