The peaceful crofting community of Blaich is idyllically situated on the shores of Loch Eil, 18 miles from Fort William, on the spectacular west coast of Scotland. The main town of the Western Highlands, nearby Fort William offers a variety of welcoming shops, pubs and restaurants, while the surrounding area, renowned as the Outdoor Capital of the UK, offers a wealth of activities for adrenalin seekers. For those in search of a more relaxing break, Loch Linnhe offers the perfect setting for a tranquil boat cruise whilst observing the abundant wildlife and magnificent views of Ben Nevis. Enjoy one of the Great Railway Journeys of the World, on the Jacobite Steam Railway, an incredible, 42 mile passage crossing the Glenfinnan Viaduct, made famous by J. K. Rowling's Harry Potter. Skiers and snowboarders can experience the thrills of the Nevis Range during the winter and take the opportunity to ride Britain's only mountain gondola in the summer. A superb location for a memorable holiday.

The Property: Tighard

A traditional, stone built crofter's cottage, set in the peaceful surrounds of Loch Eil in the small hamlet of Blaich, 14 miles from Corpach and 18 miles from Fort William. Comfortably and tastefully furnished, this lovely, detached property features a traditional sitting room with warming open fire, a light and airy conservatory overlooking the well established garden and lovely views toward Loch Eil and the hills beyond from almost every room. The Snowgoose Mountain Centre at Corpach offers instruction in canoeing, kayaking and sailing whilst the whole of the region affords superb outdoor activities. Fort William provides a number of welcoming shops and pubs, while the small fishing village of Airsaig offers short ferry trips to the beautiful Hebridean Isle of Eigg, home to an amazing variety of orchids and the occasionally spotted otter. Visit the Glenfinnan Monument, or take the ferry from Mallaig to the misty Isle of Skye. A marvellous base for an all year round break.

Three bedrooms: 1 x double, 1 x twin, 1 x ground floor double. Bathroom with bath with shower over, basin and WC. Fitted kitchen with dining area. Utility room. Sitting room with open fire and doors to conservatory.

Full gas central heating throughout, open fire in sitting room. Gas cooker, microwave, fridge (no ice box), freezer, washing machine, colour TV, DVD, CD player etc. Small library of books/games. Fuel, power & starter pack of fuel for open fire inc. in rent. Bed linen & towels inc. in rent. Off road parking for 3 cars. Large lawned garden to rear with decked area, garden furniture & BBQ. Two well-behaved dogs welcome. Sorry no smoking. Shop & pub 14 miles.

The cottage was in a beautiful location. The garden was an excellent size for our boys to enjoy. A particularly nice point was the little welcome gestures like - bottle of wine in the fridge, open fire made ready to light.

Brilliantly equipped. Fire made up ready - Great! Excellent cottage in great location. The nice touches were appreciated, (shortbread, bottle of wine). Fantastic place, one of the best we have stayed in - and we've been to a few!
