The village of Kilmartin sits at the heart of Kilmartin Glen, one of the most important prehistoric sites on the Scottish mainland. Within 6 miles there are rock carvings, standing stones, burial cairns and the remains of the Iron-Age fort at Dunadd, the home of the first kings of Scotland. The village of Kilmartin is home to a church, post office, shop, pub, two castles and the Kilmartin House Museum with visitor centre next door, housing a cafe and a shop selling local crafts. The town of Lochgilphead is 8 miles away, offering a good selection of cafes and small shops selling a range of goods, foods and crafts, while the village of Inveraray, home to the Duke and Duchess of Argyll, is within driving distance.

The Property: Bluebell Cottage

Kilmartin 12 miles. A delightful, single storey, detached cottage peacefully situated in the owners' grounds by the shores of Loch Awe in the village of Eredine, 12 miles from the village of Kilmartin. This lovely, spacious property is tastefully furnishedand features a modern, well equipped kitchen, a woodburner and a large decked area overlooking a woodland garden, complete with burn (stream), perfect for alfresco dining! The glorious setting of Loch Awe, the longest inland loch in Scotland, provides excellent walking, fishing (with permit), cycling and wildlife, while Kilmartin offers a shop, pub and interesting archaeological museum. Visit the town of Lochgilphead, the village of Inveraray, home to the Duke and Duchess of Argyll, or take a boat trip around the islands in the Firth of Lorn. This beautiful part of Argyll makes a great holiday base at any time of year!

All ground floor. Three bedrooms: 1 x twin, 2 x double (1 with ensuite shower, basin & WC). Bathroom with bath, separate shower, basin & WC. Fitted kitchen. Dining room with patio doors to decked area. Sitting room with woodburner. Hall.

Full electric central heating with additional heating from woodburner in sitting room. Electric oven & hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, washer/dryer, dishwasher, 2 x colour TVs with Freeview, DVD, radio/CD player, library of books/games/DVDs, 4 adult bikes available for use. Electricity charged from meter reading. Starter pack for woodburner inc. in rent. Bed linen & towels inc. in rent. Highchair. Off road parking for 3 cars. Large, lawned terrace garden with burn (stream) & decked area with furniture & BBQ. Sorry, no pets & no smoking. Shop & pub 12 miles. Note: Burn (stream) at bottom of garden - ensure children are supervised. Note: Property may be suitable for accompanied disabled - please phone for information.

This property is in its first year of use and is in excellent condition. The cottage has a nice setting on the hill adjacent to the loch. The owners were friendly, helpful and considerate to our needs. Welcome pack was first class. I will use you again!

what else can we say about perfection? everything about this holiday more than lived up to our expectations plus the owners went out of their way to make us feel welcome.Fresh eggs when required, along with the best welcome pack i've ever seen all this helped us have one of the most enjoyable holidays we've had. highly recommended.

Bluebell cottage is a fantastic property finished to an extremely high standard. The location is beautiful and scenic and very tranquil. The owners could not have made us more welcome and provided us with a much needed and well received welcome pack. During our stay they ensured we were comfortable and even allowed our children to collect eggs from their own hens for breakfast. I would have no hesitation in recommending Bluebell cottage to all our friends and family. Thanks again to the owners for a great holiday!
