Warm and welcoming. Everything needed is provided (even the small things). Loved our stay. Beds were extremely comfortable. Very peaceful with a lovely back garden. Our dog also settled in well. Thank you to the hosts. Also a thoughtful gesture of cake and milk provided.

Great location in Hornsea with everything you could need close by. The cottage itself is perfect and we could not fault anything during our stay. Nice garden and was ideal for our dog who seemed to enjoy himself also. We have stayed in Hornsea before but would definitely come back to Fisher Cottage. Managed to cram a fair bit into our 4 night stay and would hope to come back at some point.

  • "Lovely house with an enclosed garden with a shared access (only with next door)."

The kitchen and dining area are large, the 2 bedrooms a good size. Only downside is that the road is quite close which can be busy, at night with a bedroom window open, it can be a little distracting. Tesco 2 mind walk away, the UK's best fish and chip shop is less than 10 mins walk, as is the town and the seafront. Would happily recommend and stay again.

It had everything we needed. The fully enclosed garden was perfect for our dog. Hornsea was perfect. Not too busy just right for a couple who just wanted the chill out and relax. Bridlington and Scarborough are just up the road if you want more. Another bonus were the lovely neighbours, a font of local knowledge and great vegetables. Would highly recommend this cottage.

The room tiles are a bit hard on the bare feet so a cheap pr of slippers is an idea. Bed was so comfy which was a godsend but a fan for the bedrooms in extreme hot weather would be welcome. The only problem we had was with the oven trays and frying pans which have had their day, but we managed to cook some meals in the SS saucepans. Thank you for the flowers, milk and lemon cake they were a nice touch. The lovely neighbours Aileen and Dave are extremely helpful if you don’t know the area, but the instruction pack is useful for all important numbers/ information you might need. The view of the mere from the peaceful garden and from the single bedroom is stunning, and the location of the cottage very convenient for town, shop (Large Tesco 2 mins away) and beach a 10 minute walk along the Transpennine Way. Parking easy despite busy road at front of the property. The owners couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful, as were the neighbours. The lounge could be a bit lighter with lighter paintwork and curtains and the seating isn’t as new or comfortable as we would have ideally liked. But kitchen facilities and bedroom comfort was excellent. The nearby Mere is a gem and the stretch of coast further North (including Flamborough and Bempton Cliffs is stunning. Overall an excellent short break.

The cottage was comfortable and well equipped with a sunny garden overlooking the mere in the distance. The next-door neighbours are really friendly too. The only minor quibble would be that there could do with being more logs supplied for short breaks in Winter/Spring as it gets chilly in the evenings but all in all a great cottage to stay in.

The bedding and towels had a lovely fresh clean smell. The porch entrance was an added bonus as having a dog we were able to wipe her feet before she entered the kitchen. The kitchen was fully equipped, touchscreen oven controls, (luckily the instruction booklet was available). Fully enclosed garden with a view of the Mere, even sat outside and had lunch one day, not bad for February. A couple of suggestions for the lounge - the lighting could be brighter, maybe a couple of cushions for the sofa also a small rug all these are personal preferences. The master bed was so comfortable, the bathroom/shower was fine. Plus very friendly helpful neighbours. All in all a very well presented property and we would happily stay here again.

We were extremely lucky with the weather and got lots of fab walks in, including some of the Trans Pennine trail way, a cliff top walk to Skipsea ( with a chip butty from Sullivans chippy on our return) and a walk around the Mere, the cottage was always a pleasure to come back to and lovely with the log burner going of an evening whilst relaxing with a glass or 2 of wine. It would make an ideal base for someone in the summer months however we stayed over the Xmas week with our two small dogs. The weather wasn't too good so we spent a fair amount of time indoors because of this we found the lounge area to be somewhat dark and lacking in space this coupled with Sykes doggie restrictions and the fact with no dryer or downstairs radiators there was nowhere to dry coats or dog towels when wet.So sorry but it wasn't our cup of tea.so went home after two days.We would like to say thanks for the cake and milk and we are sure other people will find it fine.

The cottage is cosy and warm, extremely well equipped and beautifully clean. It felt like home as soon as we arrived, with lots of nice touches like the flowers, cake and milk. As we had travelled to Hornsea for a family funeral, it was nice to have somewhere that felt so welcoming, particularly the log burning stove which we all enjoyed. For us, the fact that you have a side entrance to the property which leads around to the back door and utility area was great for drying our dog and ourselves. The enclosed secure back garden with spectacular views of the Mere were ideal and the sunsets and wildlife were breathtaking. We had no problems parking at the front of the property and as other reviews have said, the neighbours are so friendly and a pleasure to chat to. We found a wealth of interesting walks from our front door, including the Trans-Pennine Way which starts in Hornsea and goes all the way to Liverpool, you can pick up the route less than 500 yards from the cottage. The large supermarket, just around the corner, is also very useful.
