Ref: 398 Rowan House
GIGGLESWICK Settle 1 mile; Malham 6 miles; Skipton 16 miles. This delightful Ribblesdale village lies below a limestone scar (part of the Craven fault) and just across the river from the bustling market town of Settle. It's an incredibly pretty place with sturdy houses and cottages, many dating back to the 17th Century as the 'date stones' over their doorways will confirm. Today the village is still centred around the beautiful St Alkelda's church, which dates back to the 12th Century and the well known landmark of the domed chapel at the famous Giggleswick School, which dominates the village skyline. Giggleswick itself has a few small shops and pubs, whilst the wide ranging amenities of the nearby market town of Settle are within easy walking distance. Further afield is the town of Ingleton with its splendid waterfall walk and of course (for the more serious walker) the Three Peaks are nearby. The Property: Rowan House Giggleswick 1 mile.

Aug 2007 | This was a very attractive cottage, set in a super garden - ideal for dogs and children. The views from the cottage were spectacular.
There was a footpath over the road which delivered long walks for the dogs and further amazing views.
The cottage provided children's dvds, and board games, which proved perfect evening entertainment.

Jul 2007 | Excellent Christmas accommodation - pity we didn't have any snow so we could appreciate the log fire more! Would make a great base for a holiday any time of year.
Mr Templeman, Castleford, West Yorkshire
Dec 2006 | We enjoyed our long weekend with our family and the views from the house were wonderful. The house was extremely homely and we all felt very relaxed. We enjoyed the walks just across from the house and it was ideally placed for walking our dog. The owners kindly left many essential items and they were much appreciated. The house was lovely and warm and welcoming after our days out. We had many good pub meals in Settle. We would definitely return again.
Mrs Roberts, Boston, Lincolnshire
