The beautiful village of Thornton-le-Dale lies just two miles to the east of Pickering within The North York Moors National Park. Much of its charm comes from its complicated shape - a fascinating jumble of streams and paths and pretty houses with an attractive village green which still has its wooden stocks and a market cross. The village offers a selection of shops, pubs and tearooms. The nearby market town of Pickering offers a good range of amenities and the famous North York Moors Steam Railway. There are broad fields above and below the village and views to the south across the Vale of Pickering, whilst to the north is the Forestry Commission's Dalby Forest, with several excellent nature trails to be enjoyed. Further afield, but within driving distance, are the East Coast and The City of York. The Property: Brookwood Cottage An immaculate, detached stone built house situated in a quiet position but close to the centre of the pretty village of Thornton-le-Dale in 'Heartbeat' country. The property is decorated, furnished and equipped to the highest standard throughout and provides very comfortable and spacious accommodation. Brookwood offers something a bit special for the discerning visitor. An excellent base for exploring the North York Moors National Park. Note: Brookwood Cottage is situated close to Brook Bungalow - together they can accommodate up to 10 people. Accommodation Three bedrooms: 1 x double, 1 x twin, 1 x single. Bathroom with shower over bath, hand basin and WC. Extra downstairs WC. Large, well equipped kitchen/dining room. Laundry room. Large and comfortable sitting room with fireplace with electric fire.
Amenities Full oil fired central heating and extra heating from electric fire in sitting room. Cooker, microwave, fridge, freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer, colour TV, video, CD player etc. All fuel and power inc. in rent. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Car port for one car, off road parking for one car. Sunny sitting area (not enclosed) to the rear with garden furniture. Sorry, no pets. Shop, tearoom and pub 2 mins walk. |
