TADDINGTON NEAR BUXTON

Buxton 5 miles; Bakewell 6 miles.

Taddington stands high in the Peaks, a group of small and simple cottages beside a long, rising main street with a rather grand church at the top of the village and a delightful pub/restaurant in the centre. This is the scenic heart of the Peak District with high limestone hills offering fantastic walks. The spa town of Buxton and pretty market town of Bakewell are both close by.

LODLEY VIEW FARM

Taddington 0.5 miles. Two individual and completely self-contained holiday properties situated in a superb, elevated and rural position in the heart of the Peak District National Park, yet only a few minutes' walk from the pretty village of Taddington. A games room is available to all guests with table tennis, pool table, darts and table football. Outside, visitors are welcome to enjoy the owners' 5 acres of fields including a football pitch (complete with goal posts and nets!). An excellent location for walkers with footpaths in every direction. The owners live in the farmhouse and provide a warm personal welcome to visitors.

The Property: Lodley Cottage

Lovely views from the cottage, easy reach of good walking. A friendly welcome from the owner, who then left us to our own devises, which was perfect.

I immediately felt at home in the cottage. I had gone there as an `away from it all` break and thats exactly what I got. Excellent walks nearby and all the information of walks and nearby attractions were in the cottage. Owners nearby and very friendly (my dog fell in love with theirs). Would highly recommend to others.

The location was perfect for us. The property is ideally situated between Buxton and Bakewell and although occupies a rural position it was close to both towns. The little "touches" i.e. fruit basket, fresh flowers, and a bottle of wine were much appreciated. We will definitely go back again next year sometime.

The best thing was the location of the accommodation and the convenience for the dogs. Within easy driving there were many lovely walks and places of interest. The hosts were fantastic and really lived up to their offer that nothing was too much trouble. Although we were there for a week we could easily have stayed for two.
