BASLOW Chatsworth 1 mile; Bakewell 5 miles. The pretty village of Baslow lies at the north end of stately Chatsworth House - home to the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire. Apr 2005 | The cottage was equipped to a high standard, the owner was there to meet us and was very helpful, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It is set in the perfect place to explore many old and new haunts in the Peak District. We even managed a visit to Lincoln cathedral. The village shop is only 2 doors away, selling all the basics, with very helpful staff as well. I hope our trip to Cornwall in July is as good- although perhaps a little warmer!
