MATLOCK Matlock Bath 1 mile; Bakewell 8 miles. The popular Peak District town of Matlock, together with its neighbour, Matlock Bath, has been attracting visitors to the area since the spa was developed in the late 17th Century. Set in the beautiful wooded gorge of the River Derwent, the Matlocks offer a range of shops, pubs and restaurants as well as a host of attractions including Riber Castle and Wildlife Park, Gullivers Kingdom and the Peak District Mining Museum. Magnificent views down the gorge can be enjoyed from the cable car which takes visitors up to the Heights of Abraham - a great place for all the family with its showcaves, nature trail, water gardens and Owl Maze. South of the town is the start of the High Peak Cycle Trail, whilst a short drive away is the National Tramway Museum at Crich. To the north are the market town of Bakewell and Chatsworth House and Park - not to be missed! The Property: Ruardean Ashover 3 miles; Matlock 4 miles.

The cottage is comfortably furnished and well-equipped, offering spacious accommodation and retaining original features including a quarry-tiled floor. It makes a peaceful and relaxing base from which to explore the Peak District at any time of the year. Accommodation Three bedrooms: 2 x double, 1 x bunk beds (Note: Lower bunk converts to full-sized double, top bunk suitable for child only). Bathroom with bath (shower over), washbasin and WC. Small well equipped fitted kitchen with Belfast sink. Separate farmhouse style dining room. Comfortable sitting room with open fire and views to three sides. Utility room. Ground floor cloakroom with washbasin and WC. Front porch and hallway.
Amenities Full oil central heating with additional heating from open fire in sitting room. Electric oven with separate four ring hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher, colour TV (inc. Sky), DVD, music centre etc. All fuel and power inc. in rent. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Off road parking for two cars. Pleasant enclosed garden with garden furniture and BBQ. Adjoining field available to guests for sports/games (including goal posts and cricket net). Sorry no smoking or pets. Shop 3 miles, pub 5 mins walk. |
