Ref: 865 Wellhead Cottage
GRASSINGTON Skipton 9 miles; Ilkley 12 miles. Grassington is one of the most charming villages in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Traditional stone cottages and shops are clustered around the cobbled market place, offering exceptional shopping facilities for a village of this size, with a monthly farmer's market offering a mouthwatering range of organic and homemade local produce. Situated on the River Wharfe, with the extensive Grass Woods to the north of the village, this is a superb walking area. Down dale is Bolton Abbey with the Abbey ruins, the Priory and the famous "Strid Walk". A little further is the elegant town of Ilkley, overlooked by the famous Ilkley Moor. Up dale are Kettlewell and Buckden boasting spectacularly beautiful limestone scenery. With many other beauty spots scattered throughout Wharfedale, Grassington provides a great base for exploring the local area and all that the Dales have to offer, with Bronte Country and York also being within easy motoring distance. | Previous Visitors' Comments | The house was fantastic. We all enjoyed our holiday and would definitely use this accomodation again.
Mr & Mrs Dickson, Haddington, East Lothian

Mr Turnock, Newcastle, Staffordshire
Jun 2008 | The cottage is in the centre of Grassington and so all of the shops and countryside were literally on the doorstep. The cottage has a dedicated parking space which, in Grassington, was really important. The cottage is very well-equipped and very comfortable. We would stay in this cottage again.
Mr Ward, Andover, Hampshire
Sep 2007 | Location excellent, parking outside the cottage (Grassington is notorious for its lack of parking in the town). Cottage was warm and cosy and well equipped.
Mr Hughes, Liverpool, Merseyside
Feb 2007 | A beautiful cottage. While retaining its old world charm, modern conveniences were of a particularly high standard.
Mr Crabb, Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire
Nov 2006 | This was our second stay in this cottage, and if we were to decide to return to Grassington we would not hesitate to hire the cottage again.
Mr Wilson, Lincoln, Lincolnshire
Sep 2006 | We had a lovely stay at Wellhead. We found the cottage charming and more than comfortable. We have recommended it to family and friends and are looking forward to staying there again in the near future.
Mr Walford, Manchester, Greater Manchester
Jun 2006 | It is exactly a "home from home", we could not fault anything, even the location is perfect.
Mrs Archer, Gloucester, Gloucestershire
Feb 2006 | The cottage location is excellent. It is furnished with ornaments etc to a higher standard than many properties; far better crockery and cutlery than many also. Walking in the area is superb and we were blessed with good weather.
Mr Herd, CHESTER,
Aug 2005 | The location was brilliant. Once at Grassington we rarely used the car.
