LLANBERIS

Caernarfon 7 miles; Bangor 10 miles; Betws-y-Coed 17 miles.

Dominated by the grandeur of the Snowdon Massif, Llanberis is flanked by two lakes, Llyn Padarn and Llyn Peris and is one of the most popular mountain tourist centres in the Snowdonia National Park. In fact, Llanberis is something of a 'mecca' for walkers and climbers, being the starting point for the ascent of Snowdon - the highest mountain in England and Wales. The ascent can be made either by train, on the Snowdon Mountain Railway, or on foot along one of the many routes to the summit. Each year, major racing events attract thousands to the area: The fast 'Snowdon Race' to the summit, held in July every year and The Snowdonia Marathon, held in October - a gruelling 26 mile course that starts and finishes in Llanberis, circumnavigating the Snowdon Massif. Within Llanberis itself there are excellent places to eat and drink and a great choice of shopping. Just 7 miles from Llanberis, on the coast, is Caernarfon with its magnificent Castle and town walls and close by are National Trust properties at Penrhyn and Plas Newydd.

The owner was extremely helpful. A nice touch was a good welcome pack with food and flowers. No attempt to squeeze in too much sleeping at the expense of the day comfort. Excellent sauna facility. The catering equipment, cutlery, and crockery were more than adequate for a number of guests and all of good quality, state of the art etc. We definitely intend another visit. Well done!
Mr Jones, Mold, Clwyd

A very comfortable and warm house. Enough room to either join in with the main group or to find a space for quiet contemplation. The sauna was an added bonus. All 16 of us enjoyed a great family gathering. An excellent location in the village.
Mrs Kavanagh, Mold, Flintshire

The owners are very nice and helpful, who go out of their way to ensure everthing is ok. There was plenty of off road parking for 6 - 7 cars, and plenty of good restuarants nearby.

There was lots of space for a large party to divide into groups or for folk to find some privacy. Llanberis is a really good touring centre but also have several days' worth of attractions within waliking distance.
