  • "I would definitely recommend Jacob’s Barn as a holiday destination."

We were visiting friends close by so it provided an excellent base, but what a little find. Everything you could possibly want was there, it was just perfect.

  • "We love this little cottage and this was our second stay at Jacob’s Barn."

Only two very small issues stopped me from giving a top marks and they would probably not bother other visitors. The beams in the mezzanine bedroom are a bit more for me as I am over 6 feet, and we would have liked a coffee pot! Don’t let me put you off though - the hosts are very lovely although we had no need to disturb them and this cottage is a peaceful and beautiful retreat.

It is always worth while studying the photos and the property description to ensure you choose a property that is going to be comfortable for you, unfortunately we cannot change the properties construction. Perhaps you would have found The Stables more comfortable. A cafertier is available in the kitchen cupboard. Property Owner

  • "Jacob's Barn is a cosy holiday cottage, it was very clean and had everything we needed for our stay."

Tea, coffee and biscuits were supplied in the kitchen on arrival which is a lovely welcoming touch. The view of the peaks from the front garden was amazing, and the location was so quiet and peaceful. The owners pretty much left us to it, but when we did speak to them after arriving back from a day out, they were very friendly and provided suggestions of other things to do in the local area. The cottage is located so that you can reach a lot of attractions within 30 minutes or so. You do have to drive to get to the nearest shop for supplies! Overall we had a really enjoyable stay at Jacob's Barn and would recommend to couples wishing to have a holiday to the Peak District.

The property was well situated to explore all the Peak District has to offer . We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It was wonderful to find a dog friendly property finished to such a high standard and so well maintained. Having read other reports, we too found the lounge window velux, which has no blind, a bit of an issue with the sunlight disturbing our sleep a little and our GSD managed to jump the front wall, but these are very minor issues and had no impact on our delightful stay.
