Many interesting local walks and hills to enjoy. Bird feeders and the hope of spotting the badger or pine marten entertained us at new year. We would certainly want to revisit Clearwater.

  • "A lovely house in an absolutely stunning location."

It was so peaceful and relaxing. The house itself was very clean and comfortable. The highlight was being able to just launch our canoe straight from the beach and we were lucky enough to have the nearby Sandy Bay all to ourselves all week. What a treat it was have badgers and a pine martin visit us every night. If you like wildlife, peace and quiet, stunning views and kayaking then this place is just perfect!

Thank you for your appreciative comments. We are pleased you had a memorable holiday. I would be pleased if you could advise what was missing on the accuracy of the listing so we can make amendments and also what facilities would have been helpful to you. All feedback is welcome, so thank you. Property Owner

  • "Perfect holiday venue for us."

House had everything we needed and was very comfortable; decor very tasteful...and lovely and warm too. It was a nice touch finding more birdseed at the house than we had brought with us! Really enjoyed the surroundings and local wildlife...three badgers and two pine martens on the same evening. Just to note...the "neighbours" at Coopers Knowe seemed to think the secret beach was their "own private beach"; we overheard this comment one day at the beach....it was not a problem, but the website for Coopers Knowe does use the word "private" (maybe an overinterpretation of "private" as opposed to "Private"?

A great house in a fairytale beautiful place. The nice private pebble beach and plenty to see, beautiful walks in the area and a great base for larger day trips by car. But the view from the house over the Loch alone was a gift. Comfortable beds, nice decor and everything we needed was there.

  • "Thank you for sharing your wonderful house - the view and surroundings are the definition of holiday!"

Your water was like a shower medicine for the skin - we only had „fun“ with midges and the heating was a bit too warm in the house, otherwise just wonderful!

  • "The property is in a very secluded location with outstanding views across the sea loch & mountains."

I enjoyed the walks from the property including finding the ‘secret beach’. Inside the toaster is rusted The temperature in the house was chilly at times & the heating did not come on at all during my stay Even though I do not go on holiday to watch tv, Unfortunately I do feel that there is an inaccurate description about the TV. You state TV. You do not mention that this is a smart tv, or that there is NO signal - so you are unable to watch ‘ live ‘ tv. You also do you mention that you have to log into the apps on the smart tv, create an account , just to watch a program - not everyone is that tech savvy, or after an 8 hour car journey something you want to start doing.

Thank you for your feedback. I am glad you enjoyed the house and its location nestled in Roshven. The heating is set at 19/20 degrees. The radiators will only be on if the room needs to be boosted to that temperature as they are on a thermostat. If a temperature is required above that then we are always happy to help and are available to phone 24hr a day, as stated in the ‘arrival file’. There is also a wood burner to increase room temperature if required. The tv proved difficult for you but it is the first guest comment made on this so we will have a think; all house instruction leaflets are in the ‘arrival file’. I have not peered lately into the toaster but will address accordingly for other guests. I did ring and text you early in your week at the house following your call to Sykes but you did not respond so I could not help in either the heating or tv. Property Owner

  • "This was out third stay at Clearwater House - once again a really lovely experience."

The property is in a fantastic location, stunning views over the loch and a short walk to the beach. The house itself is really comfortable and well equipped and perfectly placed to explore a wide area of this fantastic country - including boat trips to places such as Skye, Mull and the Small Isles of the Inner Hebrides. Just gets better each time and would recommend to anyone.

Many thanks for taking time to lodge your feedback. Pleased the weather was kind to visit the islands this time. Hope you found the Seafood Shack in Arisaig - a real treat for seafood lovers whether eaten outside there or a platter collected and brought back to Clearwater. You are right when you say 'fantastic country', we are always smitten when we visit. Property Owner

The location was superb, the view from the house was amazing, hours were spent watching over the loch to the mountains, the changing colours, the peace and serenity all made for the most wonderful week. Many memories to truly savour.

Thank you for commenting. All feedback is always helpful. I am glad that you had a memorable and restful stay. I see that under 'facilities and maintenance' you did not feel was worthy of a top mark. I would be pleased to know what did not make the grade, so to speak, so we can improve. • "Really enjoyed our stay at Clearwater House, property was clean and comfortable and has everything you need."

Think it would benefit from some updating in the en-suite bathroom which would also benefit from some improved lighting, as would other areas. We were a little surprised to learn 2 days before our holiday that as the water comes from a private supply it is brown, as this is not mentioned in the details on line. We were informed it is safe to drink downstairs but the appearance is slightly off-putting so we did use bottled water for drinking, cooking and teeth cleaning. We did have an issue with the heating during our stay, which we informed the owners about and they were very helpful in trying to sort it out, but there were still radiators that didn’t get warm, however, we still enjoyed our stay very much. Would never tire of the views from the house and was lovely being able to walk down through the garden to the beach.

Sadly, COVID delayed our bathroom updates but can confirm we have a new bathroom and shower room. The heating is set at 19/20 degrees. The radiators will only be on if the room needs to be boosted to that temperature as they are on a thermostat. If a temperature is required above that please telephone contact. Happy to help. There is a wood burner to increase room temperature. A private water supply is quite common in rural areas of Scotland and is tested annually. There is mild discolouration and some guests prefer to use bottled water for cordial use. Property Owner

A lovely base for exploring and enjoying the area. The views from all the windows are lovely, we could have sat in the lounge for hours watching the ever changing view of the clouds, and sometimes sun, move across the mountains in the other side of the loch. We even had a daily visitor, a buck roe deer, who we named Donald! patrolled the grass land in front of the loch. Everything you may need is provided, and so clean. Thank you for such a relaxing holiday.

  • "This an outstanding property."

The lochside setting is perfect, with lovely views and and access to two beaches. Because access to these is so limited, they are to all intents and purposes private. A problem developed with one of the showers during our stay and the owner arranged for its prompt repair. This was typical of her helpful approach: unintrusive but available if needed. We couldn't have asked for more.

  • "Brilliant location for lovers of unspoilt west coast scenery."

The secret beach was fabulous for adults and children alike with sand all day. We saw plenty of birds but fewer than we used to years ago. The house has a very spacious living/dining room overlooking the loch. The directions need to be improved. Both we and our son coming from the Corran Ferry and Strontian drove past it. From the ferry the track entrance is around 50 metres past Wildwood which has a clear sign. The Clearwater name is on a stone (not boulder size) under a taller sign saying Roman Lodge.

  • "Absolutely stunning location on the Loch, amazing views from the house and garden."

The house is lovely and very well equipped. Beautiful beaches close at hand - especially the extremely secluded beach just a short walk through the woods. We used the house as a base to explore and visit the islands of Skye Mull, Eigg and Rum - scenery breathtaking - it really is Big Country and really has to be seen to be properly experienced - we would go back to Clearwater in a flash, a really lovely place.

However, the stay was marred by the fact that the shower in the family bathroom did not work. It only had scalding hot water or cold, there was no adjustment. The dial was turned as far as it would go on the hot side when we arrived. The en-suite shower was heated separately and the hot water ran out after 2 showers. Due to water heating restrictions, there was insufficient hot water for a family. On some days, members of the party went without a wash or there was no hot water to wash the dishes as neither could be undertaken with the hot water resources we had. There was a hot water boost switch but it took 2 hours for the water to heat. It was not possible to contact the owner as there was no mobile signal. There was no address to allow us to visit. We were not met by anyone nor did anyone call to greet us so the issue could be resolved during the stay.

I have made a courtesy call today to the holiday makers who have rented following your departure last Saturday. They have no problem with the power shower in the bathroom and no other issues with hot water in the shower room or kitchen. Our personal telephone number is stated in the welcome book and we are available 24 hours a day. There is WIFI in the house and mobile signal is available on the roads out of Roshven. Contact could also be made with Sykes who would contact us by phone and email. We have always respected the privacy of our holiday makers and not made contact but perhaps we will review this for the future; thank you for this feedback. Property Owner
