The pretty market town of Church Stretton lies in the heart of south Shropshire. It is set amid striking scenery and has often been described as "Little Switzerland". The town is the main centre for Shropshire's hill country and home to a variety of tearooms, pubs and specialist shops. Other local attractions include walks on the Long Mynd, the Acton Scott Working Farm and Stokesay Castle. The historic towns of Shrewsbury, Ludlow, Ironbridge, Much Wenlock and Bishops Castle are only a short journey away.

The Property: Paddock Lodge

Church Stretton 1 mile. An immaculate first floor flat in the tranquil Shropshire village of All Stretton. Set in a wing of the owner's home, Paddock Lodge is surrounded by wonderful countryside and enjoys lovely views. The accommodation is cosy and comfortable, being decorated, furnished and equipped to a high standard. The surrounding countryside is excellent for walking, riding and cycling, whilst the peace is perfect for those who are simply looking to relax and unwind. The village shop and pub are just 2 minutes walk from the cottage. Further afield, but still within easy touring distance are the attractions of Shrewsbury, Ludlow and the Welsh borders. Note: The property is accessed by a set of external steps.

Accommodation

1 x double bedroom (also available as 2 single beds) with ensuite bathroom, with bath with shower over, washbasin and WC. Compact and well equipped fitted kitchen. Cosy sitting room with dining area and sofa bed.

Amenities

Gas fired central heating. Electric cooker, microwave, fridge, freezer, access to washer/dryer (in external utility room), combined colour TV/video, CD player. Fuel and power inc. in rent. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Cot and highchair available on request. Private enclosed garden with lawn, patio, garden furniture and BBQ. Ample off road parking (with car port). Sorry, no pets and no smoking. Village pub 2 mins walk. Shop 1 mile. Note: The property next door to Paddock Lodge is currently undergoing some extension works, which should cause minimal disruption to guests. Please contact office for further details.

On arrival it was lovely to find a pint of milk in the fridge to have a hot drink, also some coffee, tea and sugar.

Beautifully maintained property in an excellent location. Paddock Lodge is an excellent location for a holiday without a car, with beautiful and varied walks from the doorstep and very good bus and rail services nearby. The owners couldn't have been more helpful.
