  • Restormel Castle, Lostwithiel – An ideal picnic spot, this well-preserved 13th Century keep stands on an old Norman mound and offers beautiful views of the surrounding countryside
  • St Mawes Castle, St Mawes – The attractive, and decorative St Mawes Castle sits proudly at the mouth of the Fal estuary and is one of the best-preserved of King Henry VIII’s coastal fortresses
  • Trelissick Gardens, Truro – The fairy tale setting of Trelissick Gardens is unrivalled. The 40-acre garden occupies an entire peninsular and boasts a seven-acre arboretum, magnificent wild flower banks and formal lawns
  • Antony House, Torpoint – This magical home and gardens formed the backdrop to Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland and houses an outstanding collection of portraits period furniture and tapestries
  • Sterts Theatre, Liskeard – This alfresco, canopied theatre puts on classic and contemporary performances in a natural setting. Take a blanket and a picnic and enjoy the open-air show
  • The Monkey Sanctuary, Looe – On the coast, nestled in the woods you’ll find the Looe Monkey Sanctuary – the home of a number of playful primates
