Keeping teenagers entertained when on a family holiday can be rather difficult, but we’ve found five fantastic activities which are sure to grab your teen's attention. From stand up paddle boarding and rock climbing, to paintballing and coasteering, these active pursuits are sure to liven up your holiday.
Coasteering with Cornish Rock Tors
Travel along Cornwall’s rugged coastline and get to grips with the county’s thrilling environment by jumping from cliffs and swimming through rocky coves on a coasteering adventure with Cornish Rock Tors. With a range of routes available to suit all activity levels, Cornish Rock Tors prides themselves on offering a safe and fun atmosphere where you can do as little or as much as you like. The introduction to coasteering course introduces teenagers to coasteering in a calm and tranquil setting, allowing them to explore caves, jump from rock ledges and scramble across the coast all under the watchful eye of one of their experienced instructors.
Price: A two hour introduction to coasteering is £40 per person.
Opening times: Available seven days a week depending on the weather, morning sessions from 9am and afternoon sessions from 2pm.
Kite Buggying with Mobius
Can you imagine anything more fun than racing across the beach in your very own buggy, just inches above the sand as your kite pulls you along? We can’t, and that’s why kite buggying has made in onto our list. The folks over at Mobius offer excellent classes for beginners where you can learn how to get your buggy moving, steer with your feet and control your kite all in the picture perfect setting of Perranporth Beach. The speed of the buggy is controlled by using larger or smaller kites, insuring that kite-buggying is an activity that the whole family can enjoy together. It can take up to an hour-and-a-half to master the skills required for kite flying, so if you want more time in your buggy we would suggest booking one of the three or four hour sessions.
Price: Two hours £40, three hours £60, four hours £75. One-to-one lessons are available at an hourly rate. See website for more details.
Opening times: Open seven days a week all year round. Lesson start times depend on the beach space available and tide times so please check with Mobius before booking.
