Beer and mussels may sound an odd combination, but travel to The Cornish Arms Beer and Mussel Festival and we think you’ll be pleasantly surprised. This unique event takes place at Rick Stein’s famous gastropub, The Cornish Arms, and has become popular among food lovers and beer drinkers alike. Throughout the weekend, patrons can sample over 30 different beers and ciders, including ales from St Austell Brewery and Sharp’s Brewery. There’s a range of delicious mussel dishes on offer too, not to mention a full entertainment roster, making the Beer and Mussel Festival a must-see event.

Rock Oyster Festival

Celebrate Cornwall’s artisan food and independent culture at the 2015 Rock Oyster Festival. As one of the county’s largest food festivals, Rock Oyster is a vibrant event where great food and magnificent entertainment go hand in hand; think cooking demonstrations, live music, craft stalls and even high-flying circus performers. If you aren’t a fan of oysters, don’t fret, as there’s plenty of other gastronomic treats on offer, including steak, curry and an abundance of tasty seafood.

Newquay Fish Festival

Taking place on Newquay’s popular promenade, the Newquay Fish Festival is an undisputed success story. Since 2003, the event has event has grown at a tremendous rate, and now attracts over 20,000 visitors a year. Now in its 11th year, the 2015 fish festival promises more seafood celebration than ever before – with live music, cookery displays and a host of specialist seafood stalls. Some of Cornwall’s top chefs will descend on Newquay Harbour for this year’s event, and they’ll be offering up top culinary advice throughout the weekend.

Bude for Food

An inspiring medley of artisan food and top chefs make Bude for Food an attractive offer for food lovers. This two day event takes place in the grounds of Bude Castle, and features a packed programme of culinary events. Some of the chefs attending this year’s Bude for Food include Michelin-starred Paul Ainsworth – head chef of Number 6 restaurant in Padstow – as well as Emily Watkins from The Great British Menu. Throughout the weekend, visitors can sample an array of delicious, chef-prepared Cornish produce, before enjoying a tipple in the festival’s well-stocked bar – bliss.

This two day event has grown rapidly in recent years, with more stalls and exhibits planned for 2015 than ever before.
