All of the produce served at the fair is locally sourced, and there’ll be plenty of opportunity to sample some throughout the weekend.

All-day cookery demonstrations will take place in the main marquee over the weekend, with high-profile chefs presenting an array of culinary masterclasses. Alongside several other marquees where live music and entertainment can be enjoyed, Porthleven hosts over ninety food and craft stalls. The theme for this year’s event is world street food, so look forward to tasting anything from Sushi to Churros, oysters to Adobo pork.

Newlyn Fish Festival

What’s to love: Never has seafood been more enticing than at the Newlyn Fish Festival. This annual event celebrates Cornwall’s fishing heritage in all its glory, with live music, cooking demonstrations, a “fish auction” and – for this year only – The Great Cornish Fish Off. Where the Newlyn Fish Festival differs from other food festivals is its focus on fishing as a wider local tradition; children can follow the fishy trail, and learn about Cornwall’s seafood heritage en route, whilst grown-ups can try their hand at sculling a punt on the high-seas. Whether you’re interested in food, fish or fishing, this is a huge enjoyable event.
