Not forgetting skiing and snowboarding during the winter months - there's something for everyone, with tuition available.
Or discover Glencoe at a gentler pace, with a round of golf on the Dragon's Tooth Golf Course; or a trip across the tranquil waters of Loch Leven by Canadian canoe or sailboat, admiring the spectacular scenery along the way, not to mention the local wildlife. Fishing is another option, with salmon, trout, mackerel and cod all possible catches.
A large part of Glencoe is owned by the National Trust for Scotland and their award-winning visitor centre provides information on the area, as well as some out-of-the-ordinary organised activities - from archaeology walks to Land Rover safaris, plus all kinds of special events for children during school holidays like pond dipping and eco crafts. The folk museum in Glencoe village is also an interesting place to visit.
No stay in a Glencoe cottage would be complete without a trip to the legendary Clachaig Inn, just outside Glencoe village. Sensational food, cask conditioned ales and over 150 kinds of malt whisky. Bon appétit!
