Dartmouth Steam Railway
If you want to enjoy a memorable journey from Paignton to Dartmouth, look no further than the Dartmouth Steam Railway! This 6.7-mile heritage railway was once part of the Great Western Railway and now it’s a much-loved tourist attraction in Devon.
The scenic journey begins at Paignton and takes you on a 30-minute train journey to Kingswear. From Kingswear, you can board the ferry to Dartmouth and enjoy an afternoon of seeing the town’s sights!
Alternatively, you can try the Round Robin timetable, where a bus will take you from Paignton to Totnes. From here, you can enjoy a 90-minute cruise down to Dartmouth and over to Kingswear before embarking on the Dartmouth Steam Railway train to Paignton again.
After enjoying one of these marvellous itineraries, be sure to stop at the Head of Steam café at Paignton Station, where snacks, sandwiches and cakes can be enjoyed. The Belle Bistro at Kingswear Station also offers a selection of tasty refreshments.
