Hayeswater from Hartsop
Begin the walk at Hartsop carpark. Here you’ll find a gate that marks the start of the route. Follow the path beyond the gate. To the right there are some sheep pens with a gate lying just beyond them. Go through the gate.
You will soon come to a cattle grid and a fork in the path. Take the right-hand fork. You will soon come to a bridge, cross the bridge, and follow the path as it veers left. Pass through two more gates.
The path will level out and run alongside a gill. Continue on the path, past a small footbridge on the left. Soon Hayeswater will be visible. There are plenty of grassy banks here, ideal for picnics or simply taking a brief rest before retracing your steps back to the start.
