Hutton in the Forest

Based on a medieval pele tower with 17th, 18th, and 19th century additions, this is a fascinating historic building. The house contains fine collections of furniture, ceramics, tapestry, and portraits and is still a private residence.

The walled garden is surrounded by a medieval forest giving it a secluded and peaceful feel. The layout of the garden has not changed since the 18th century and features a spectacular flower garden with beds and borders of spring flowers, herbaceous and annual flowers.

After exploring the house and grounds, why not visit the Cloisters Tea Room? The tearoom serves up a range of delicious homemade light refreshments made from locally sourced ingredients, including vegetables grown on-site and honey from the estate’s bees.

Be enchanted by Hutton in the Forest…
