Loe Bar
Visitors can walk this bar of shingle beach from Porthleven along the South West Coast Path or through the Penrose Estate from Helston. Alternatively, many visitors cycle the path.
However you choose to explore this beach, you’ll enjoy sea views on one side and tranquil lake views on the other.
Swimming here is not advised due to Loe Bar’s treacherous reputation. The combination of strong waves, slippery shingle bank and currents mean many lives have been lost here over the years.
