Porth Ysgo

Begin the 150-step descent to this secluded beach for peace and tranquillity away from tourist hot spots. Porth Ysgo is more than worth the effort it takes to get there thanks to its golden sands and rugged surrounding headland.

While on the beach, don’t forget to find the waterfall set back around the centre of the bay. From here water trickles from the stream above.

On either side of the beach, you’ll find some of the best bouldering fields in Wales. The boulders are a huge draw for climbers.

The remains of an old mine sit behind the beach. Closed in 1945, the mine was serviced by a large jetty at Porth Ysgo where ships were loaded with goods.

Enjoy a beautiful day out at Porth Ysgo…
