Wordsworth House and Garden

Wordsworth House and Garden

The Wordsworth House and Garden are where poet William Wordsworth and his sister Dorothy were born and raised.

The house has been restored as it would have been in the 1770s when Wordsworth and Dorothy lived here with their parents, three brothers, and servants. As you walk through, find the kitchen and dining tables piled with real food, much of it grown in the garden, and the working kitchen is lit by a fire.

The garden exhibits 18th-century vegetables, fruit, herbs, and flowers, as they were when William played here.

Spend a great day out here for an immersive experience…
