Sykes Holiday Cottages is the UK's leading independent cottage holiday company. Following significant expansion this year, we are seeking enthusiastic individuals for the following positions:

SEO Creative Writer

Department: SEO
Location: Sykes Cottages, Chester
Reports to: Charlotte Stamper, SEO Team Leader

The Role:
Working as part of the SEO team, you will be responsible for creating engaging content for the company's websites and other websites within the travel community, aiming to entice readership and sharing of the content by users.

Key to this role is the ability to write a high quantity of quality content, on a variety of travel related topics. This will include independently researching ideas online and using your creativity to produce fresh and relevant content. Direct experience is not required as full training will be provided, however an interest in creative copywriting and online media is essential.

Key responsibilities:
1. Creating engaging, quality content to meet a given brief and deadline to deliver maximum potential for the content to be shared online
2. Improving and adding new diverse content to the company's websites, including contributing regularly to the company's blog
3. Working as part of a team to deliver projects yielding maximum commercial and online exposure for the company, including participating in and contributing ideas to department discussions

Requirements:

Essential:
• Impeccable writing skills
• Ability to work as part of a team and an ability to adapt to the needs of the team
• Ability to work to deadlines and manage your time effectively
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft or similar packages
• An interest in UK travel

Desirable:
• Any copywriting or blog writing experience
• A degree which encompassed a significant level of writing

Job Type: Permanent
Working hours: 9am - 5.30pm, Monday to Friday
Salary: Competitive

SEO Marketing Assistant

Department: SEO
Location: Sykes Cottages, Chester
Reports to: Charlotte Stamper, SEO Team Leader

The Role:
Working as part of the SEO team, you will help to implement the company's online marketing strategy, in order to enhance the company's overall online visibility and search performance.

Using a variety of techniques you will discover and analyse potential websites, with the aim of gaining additional online presence for the company. In addition, the role will include making improvements to the company's growing number of websites. Direct experience is not required as full training will be provided, however an interest in learning about online media is essential.

Key responsibilities:
1. Find opportunities to promote the company online
2. Build and maintain successful relationships with third parties, negotiating with them where necessary to achieve maximum commercial benefit from each opportunity
3. Contribute creative, well-written content to the company's blog and website
4. Contribute to department discussions aimed at developing new and existing projects which yield online exposure for the company

Requirements:
Essential:
• Organisation skills including an ability to work to deadlines and manage your time effectively
• Impeccable writing skills
• Ability to work as part of a team and be able to bring ideas and questions to the department
• Friendly and professional phone manner
• Ability to make well-reasoned decisions based on department guidelines
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft or similar packages

Desirable:
• Any copywriting or blog writing experience
• Educated to degree level
• An interest in UK travel
