In the heart of the Royal Duchy of Cornwall, our Kea holiday cottages are scattered about this sprawling parish, a mere mile southwest of Truro. They're a great base to discover the county's many delights on short breaks and longer stays.

Attractions near our Kea holiday rentals

Number one attraction is the City of Truro, within walking distance of most of our Kea holiday lets. Explore its hidden backwaters, laden with tempting shops and places to linger over lunch or tea and cakes. Admire the magnificent cathedral soaring high above the rooftops - with luck you'll hear the world-famous choir. Build a Greek Temple, make a Mummy, nose at wriggly specimens and meet a Cornish Giant at the Royal Cornwall Museum. Or enjoy a night at the theatre. Truro offers something for every taste and age.

And there's lots of other car-free sightseeing, too, thanks to the fantastic network of ferry services on the River Fal (pick up a Fal Mussel Visitor Card for discounted, hop-on/hop-off travel). A big highlight is Trelissick Garden, reached by ferry from Truro. Set on a private peninsula; expect amazing water views, exotic plants, woodland walks and creepy crawlies.

Another ferry takes you to the idyllic fishing village of St. Mawes on the Roseland Peninsula; another to the great seafaring town of Falmouth, home to the National Maritime Museum. Otherwise opt for a lazy day touring the banks of the Fal and nearby Carrick Roads, with the chance to spot everything from small, wild creatures to big ships at Falmouth Harbour.
