Congratulations on your record year and breaking the 100,000 bookings barrier.
We are Pots & Pans and as your records will show this is our first year as a holiday let owner—we started in December 2012.
We would like to thank you for your first class service to us. As we approach the end of our first financial year, the income and lettings have outperformed the ‘best case’ scenario in our business plan, and we have been able to reply just about 100% on Sykes for bookings. I had anticipated having to undertake a fair amount of marketing on our own behalf, but this has not been the case. Our ' work in progress' website remains just that, and our time input into the business has been happily contained into welcoming guests and managing the changeover days.
From the first days of this project when the concept of operating Pots & Pans as a holiday let was being considered as an alternative option to selling or private tenancy, Sykes has encouraged and supported us with information and advice that has in hindsight proved to be invariably helpful and accurate. The decision to go for the holiday let option has proved to be absolutely the right one for us.

I originally spoke to Sykes 3 years ago, but I’d already agreed to use a nearby agent. When I came to let a converted shop in Anglesey this year, I decided to give Sykes a go as I’d seen loads of their advertising. They’re everywhere! With that kind of presence, they must be good!
The application was easy. I just rang up, got the paperwork in the post and sent it back the next day. It must be working, because I’m already booked until October—which is incredible. Really happy, can’t complain! Sykes have a lovely, human touch, and they really know you and your cottage. Because they’re a family business, they understand what we’re going through and provide the help we need.
They also appreciate it’s your cottage, you’re not signing it over. You get plenty of your own time in case you want to book for yourself. To be honest, with this level of bookings, I don’t want to lose out on the profit! At my other agency you had to pay 10% to book your own property, which can’t be right!
