A short drive from the university town of Penryn, our holiday cottages in Mabe are ideal for exploring this delightful part of Cornwall. Historic Penryn features an assortment of interesting architecture dating from Tudor, Jacobean and Georgian periods. Relax over morning coffee at Jubilee Wharf, boats bobbing in the background. Climb cobbled streets lined with inviting shops and art galleries, not to mention a good choice of bars, pubs and restaurants.

Fantastic days out from your holiday home in Mabe

Check out Pendennis Castle, with its Medieval Jousts and summertime trails. Built by Henry VIII, this mighty fortress has long defended the nation and features an interactive exhibition of battle in action. Soak up 360-degree views across the estuary to St. Mawes Castle (also worth a visit) and the maritime city of Falmouth, site of the world's third largest harbour and home to the National Maritime Museum. Then round of your visit sampling a plate of tasty 'homity' pie. The Cathedral city of Truro is another great place for a daytrip, as is Trelissick Garden (National Trust).

All our Mabe holiday rentals are a short distance from Carrick Roads, the name given to the River Fal and its many tributaries. Enjoy all kinds of water sports, ferry trips galore (including the King Harry Ferry connecting St. Mawes and the Roseland Peninsula with Truro and Falmouth), fishing, bird watching, walking trails and sandy riverside coves just made for paddling.
