Meet a variety of wildlife along the way - and not too many people. Didn't we say you'd get-away-from-it-all? Or do something different and trek with llamas - such great fun and fantastic exercise as you still walk and the llama carries your gear!
Attractions come in various guises - from castles and award-winning breweries to a Michelin-starred restaurant and World Heritage Site. The latter is Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal, close to Ripon and renowned to be the finest Cistercian monastic ruin in Europe, with Georgian water gardens featuring ornate statues and follies. Tour the cellars and sample all kinds of fruity delights at Yorkshire Country Wines. Or check out some amazing natural sights like Brimham Rocks and How Stean Gorge or 'Little Switzerland'.
Capital of Nidderdale is Pateley Bridge, a lovely market town awash with welcoming pubs and tearooms and speciality shops. Visit the Nidderdale Museum, catch a show at the local playhouse, or celebrate all things rural at the Nidderdale Agricultural Show.
