The Broads are made up of miles and miles of waterways zigzagging through the countryside - there are no locks, so it's a great place for beginners. Many towns offer boat hire and you can take one out for an hour, the morning or the day, allowing you to chug along at your own pace. Or paddle along by canoe - a real outdoor adventure.
If you'd rather stay on land, pull on your Wellies and stride out from your Norfolk Broads cottage. There are miles of boardwalks and paths through the swampy woodland, or you can opt for long-distance trails like the Wherryman's Way. Tandems, mountain bikes, children's cycles etc are also available for rental across the region, with routes ranging from short, circular ones to the more challenging Weavers' Way.
