Near to one of the island's most iconic landmarks in a setting that inspired J. M. W. Turner so, our Bembridge holiday cottages are ideal for those seeking a stylish escape on the beautiful Isle of Wight.
Bembridge oozes charm and an air of exclusivity, with a busy little harbour full of fishing boats and pleasure craft, along with safe, shallow beaches attracting families with little, budding beachcombers, nets and buckets in tow.
For a village, Bembridge is surprisingly well-stocked with shops for holiday needs and also offers plenty of choice on the dining out front, including gastro pubs with stunning coastal views and private houseboats serving cream teas and scones.
Lap up the views across the Solent, Sandown Bay and the local airstrip on wonderful cliff-top walks over Bembridge and Culver Downs. Look out for Chalkhill blue butterflies during the summer months and also military fortifications - pre-book a tour of Bembridge Fort, dating back to Victorian times and gradually being restored by the National Trust.
Also protected by the National Trust is that famous island image Bembridge Windmill, built in the early 1700s and sketched by Turner - you can see a copy of his unfinished painting in the windmill kiosk.
What else? Walk or cycle the coastal routes, a small chunk at a time or around the whole island (approx 60 miles) if you're feeling fit! Lots of sailing regattas, zoos, theme parks, castles and a whole stack of other attractions all a short drive from your cottage in Bembridge.
