Please find below a selection of self catering holiday cottages to rent in Betws-Y-Coed, Wales.

Escape to the Snowdonia National Park, showcasing a myriad of natural delights and a collection of Betws-y-Coed holiday cottages.

Betws-y-Coed is the main village of the National Park and offers a wide choice of shops, cafés, restaurants and pubs. Whatever the month, visitors gather for day trips, weekends and longer stays - so if you have a Betws-y-Coed cottage in mind, it's best to book early.

The reason for its popularity is clear - the wild landscapes of Snowdonia, a glorious mix of mountains, valleys, rivers, forests and glacial lakes. In Victorian times, artists came here keen to capture the natural splendour. Today, digital cameras, boots and binoculars seem more appropriate. There are numerous walks in the area, many from the village such as the riverside walk up to Swallow Falls, a truly picturesque spot. The local Tourist Office is a good place for maps etc.

If you're feeling fit, climb Mount Snowdon. Otherwise, hop aboard the Snowdon Mountain Railway and visit the 'rooftop of Wales' - the views are mind-blowing. Other ways to enjoy the scenery include mountain biking and pony trekking.

Local culture brings another dimension to your holiday - practise a little Welsh, look out for choral concerts (there's an annual Choir Festival too), or sample tasty Welsh Rarebit and buttered Bara Brith. Other things to note include the Conwy Valley Railway Museum, with miniature steam train trips, the Motor Museum, the 14th Century St. Michael's Church and a variety of historic bridges in the area.

All in all, a great place to experience Welsh traditions amid spectacular surroundings.
