Masham Cottages

Just Show Me Masham Cottages

Cheers! Our Masham cottages are within supping distance of two award-winning, real ale breweries, both offering guided tours and lots of gen on beer making. Sample the legendary 'Old Peculier' at Theakston's, established in 1875 and then try a few 'younger' scoops at The Black Sheep, along with some tasty, 'ewe-nique' nosh!

Book a Masham cottage for all kinds of events!

Even more pints are on offer at the Yorkshire Festival of Ales, a tongue-tickling celebration held in nearby Fearby. There's also a traditional steam rally, complete with travelling organs and can-can dancers; a sheep fair in Masham's huge market square; a horse festival; a biennial festival of arts and an authentic Victorian market in December - great for Christmas shopping!

Street markets have been held in Masham since 1393 and every Wednesday and Saturday the square comes alive with stallholders selling their wares. Enjoy the banter, stock up with local delights for your Masham cottage and break for refreshments in a cosy tearoom, restaurant or pub.

Out and about, Wensleydale awaits! Sample 35 flavours of award-winning ice-creams at High Jervaulx Farm. Step back to the 12th Century at Jervaulx Abbey. Fly fish for trout at Leighton Reservoir. Go bird-watching at Marfield Wetlands. Experience the unique natural garden of Hackfall, dating back to the 1700s.

And remember to pack your boots! The best way to explore Masham and its surroundings is to set out on foot - Nidderdale AONB is right on your doorstep, offering all kinds of walks from easy three-mile circular routes to demanding day-long treks.
