Slap bang in the middle of Cornwall, with an amazing moor on
your doorstep and two spectacular coastlines within a 30-minute
drive, our Bodmin cottages are ideal for exploring Cornwall's
many delights.
First stop, Bodmin town centre. Follow the Well Trail. Join the
jury of a Victorian murder trial in the Courtroom Experience of
Shire Hall. Trace the region's history in the Bodmin Town
Museum. View military memorabilia in the Duke of Cornwall Light
Infantry Museum. Explore five fascinating floors in Bodmin Jail.
Admire the big parish church of St. Petroc's. And when you
fancy a bite to eat, choose from cafes, pubs and restaurants or
tuck into a pasty in the comfort of your Bodmin cottage.
Get out and about on Bodmin Moor, a wild, sweeping landscape
scattered with remote villages and dominated by huge granite tors.
This is real adventure country made for boots and binoculars and,
as well as extraordinary scenery, you'll find Bodmin ponies,
ancient stone circles, mindboggling sunsets and the legendary
Jamaica Inn of smuggling and Du Maurer fame - a great spot for
refreshments. Another option is to walk or cycle the 17-mile,
traffic-free Camel Trail from Bodmin to Padstow.
Treat the kids to a day out at Colliford Lake Park and Kids
Kingdom, or hop aboard the Bodmin and Wenford Steam Railway and
explore the countryside with Paddington Bear. Other local
attractions include the Eden Project, Pencarrow House & Gardens
and the Lanhydrock Estate, where you can tinkle the ivories of a
Steinway in the Long Gallery.
Lots for everyone in a Bodmin cottage!
